Good morning lovelies! This is my second outfit post from my stay in Munich in July.
As I told you the weather was lovely and I brought with me a couple of new pieces from the Heka Couture wax collection to wear in the German land!
So let’s start with this skirt that I adore: the African print is one of my favorite ones, as well as the 50’s shape of the circle skirt! Mixing ethnic prints with vintage shapes is just my favorite fashion tip ever!
During that day a few people stopped me in the street to ask about my skirt or just to say how much they loved it: it was fun to meet all these people and have lovely conversations with strangers starting from something beautiful that I was wearing. German people are incredibly friendly (especially in summer!) and I was really pleased to chat with them and to share my love for African fabrics and vintage clothing!
As the print is quite eye-catching I kept the whole outfit simple: a white tee from Cos, a pair of neutral caged sandal-boots from Jeffrey Campbell (quite old, but still one of my favorite pair of shoes as they go with everything and they are comfortable yet sexy!) and a Malian necklace that I bought during an African market in Milan last year. Sunglasses are from Hush (you can read about them in my previous post!).
A new “German outfit” is on its way soon…stay tuned!
As you may have seen on my social networks, I spent three weeks in Munich in July for work so I took advantage of a new location to shoot a couple of new outfits!
I will start with this pinky one, it was one of the first days, incredibly sunny and fresh…a real pleasure to be there and enjoy the German summer while the heat was unbearable in Milan!
Here I am wearing two of my new online finds: this lovely Mango pink striped top with one frill sleeves (I found it on ASOS during the summer sales!) and these Hush pink 40’s inspired frames that I left in my Hush wishlist for a while before buying them because it was the first time that I bought from their site and I didn’t know that much about them. Now I am totally addicted to this site and the sunglasses are amazing!
I wore them with black Dixie culottes and with my adored (and super old!) Jeffrey Campbell sandal-boots!
I will show you more “German” outfits in the next few weeks, so stay tuned and let me know what you think!
Second day in Florence was a bit more challenging. It was the day that I dedicated to go vintage hunting! Some of the shops that I remembered from my visit in March were still closed for the holiday; still, Florence was still full of tourists. Even the queue to visit the Galleria degli Uffizi was about 2 hours!
But I had two appointments in town with Sabrina from Lady Jane Vintage and Paolo from Officina Vintage where I spent the entire afternoon!
For the occasion I’m wearing a vintage black dress with a white trim collar that I bought from Verabis Vintage in Florence last spring, my Topshop faux fur cape, a vintage furry hat that I bought in London a few years ago, a vintage envelope yellow clutch (Ebay find!), vintage earrings (got them in a crowded market near here) and of course my black Jeffrey Campbell Lita’s- again! Did I mention they were comfortable?
My few days in Florence were really intense: long walks, sightseeing, a bit of shopping and of course much vintage hunting!
I’m sharing here one of my outfits, actually my New Year’s Day outfit. Everything was closed and I was very hungry so I found a Chinese take-out near my B&B (btw, Sandra Bed & Breakfast in Florence is so cute and warm: she and her husband Paolo are adorable!) and ate in a park not too far away!
Then I reached the Duomo where I met my best friend from college for a tea, a typical Tuscan dinner near Piazza della Signoria and a nice walk on the Ponte Vecchio.
Soul Sunday contributor, KNAGUI, returned the styling favor and put me in a Siste’s for Topshop skull sequined cardigan, a houndstooth Zara skirt- I added a vintage handbag (bought in Florence in March), handmade earrings from Unica and my cherished Jeffrey Campbell Lita ankle boots in black and kept myself warm in this Topshop faux fur cape. Btw, I found out that my Lita’s are uber comfortable for long walks… as if I didn’t adore them enough already!
