Another outfit post, this time from September during my Afro Fashion Week weekend in Milan.
It was a very interesting one, full of colors, music, fashion, designers from my adored African continent: everything happened in Milan right after the Milano Fashion Week in different locations and with many events other than catwalks.
No need to say that I enjoyed it a lot and this is my first day outfit.
No need to say that I wore African wax! This time it was this amazing handmade wax coat from Heka Couture, one of my favorite pieces ever! I love the bold colors of the pattern and the amazing shape of the coat.
I wore it simple with a white tee and large denim trousers from Zara. Blue velvet boots are from Madame Cosette, the bag is a vintage find from Epiphany Vintage in Frankfurt.
Last African touch, my beautiful Fulani earrings, another Etsy find from Africaialha!
Every night before going to sleep I try to decide what I am going to wear the next day. Basically I do it, I don’t try. But when I wake up in the morning, most of the times I change my mind. And mostly these changes depend on the weather (and on how much I could sleep at night!). I see grey (outside and inside!): I dress in black. I see the sun: I take out all the colors of my closet and I mix them with no fear!
That day I felt the sun; more inside than outside actually, but before leaving the house I decided to switch my Burberry beige trench with this colored pink coat from Zara and I am pretty happy that I did it because the colorful outfit put me in a great mood (it was Monday, don’t forget!).
I started the outfit with this new & Other Stories denim dress that I bought online last month and I decided that I wanted to pair it with my adored Madame Cosette velvet boots (by the way, did I tell you that I decided to wear velvet shoes this summer? I love velvet too much to use it only in winter!).
Tights were necessary that day…not only because it was quite fresh but also because my white legs are really awful so I won’t show them until I get a good tan or my new Collistar bb cream for legs!!
Tights yes or no? This is the awful question that I ask myself every morning when I wake up during this early Spring with summery temperatures and winter wind.
Well, as the last time that I said no to tights I was sick the day after, I decided that for now it is tights yes! Especially when I wear dresses and skirts and not only because I am afraid of getting a cold but also because I’m horrified of showing my pale white legs!! I need a bit of sun before going bare legs and I hate self-tanners so I guess I will need to go to the seaside as soon as possible.
For now, I hide my legs under dark tights and dark clothes (I know, another black outfit….).
For a Saturday morning brunch in Milan with a friend I decided to finally wear my new H&M black lace dress (so hard to find one that I liked and that didn’t look like I’m wearing granny’s clothes) and I decided to mix a bit the fabrics as I wore it with a very old leather jacket (almost vintage!) and my shoes of the year (just to add a bit of color!), a pair of blue velvet Chelsea boots from the Italian label Madame Cosette.
I am totally in love with these boots: as I saw them for the first time on Instagram I decided that I really wanted them but I decided to wait until winter sales to get myself this special treat! They are handmade in Italy and super comfortable and stylish at the same time.
