The Ladybug flies high like a butterfly!

What do you do when you are walking down the streets and you realize that you are dressed exactly with the same colors of your favorite murals that is just in front of you? Also, you are with your friend, also known as the best photographer that you know? Well, your organize a quick photo session just before heading back to the office, right?

I have always loved this mural in the Isola district in Milan but I don’t know why I never thought of taking pictures here until that day that my outfit perfectly matched it! Maybe it was just waiting for me wearing a matchy-matchy outfit! Ha Ha!

I was particularly colorful that day, wearing my yellow wings, ops! vintage jacket from Humana Vintage in Milan and my green trousers from Massimo Dutti both matching my AMAZING vintage Elzac 50s ceramic brooch inspired by Josephine Baker (another amazing vintage find from the wonderful Valentina from Déjà Vu Vintage!). When I saw it on Internet I immediately fell in love so she brought it in Milan during the Naviglio Grande Antiques market…I couldn’t believe my luck to have such a fantastic vintage piece!

I also wore some handmade rings, two from Francesco Tramontano and one from Ecole d’Anaïs plus a wonderful handmade Senegalese ring that I bought in Senegal years ago.

Black peep-toe ankle boots are from L’Arianna.

The Ladybug and the joy of self-acceptance

The Ladybug Chronicles Lurex Dress (4)

This set of pictures was taken a few months ago, on one of my worse days. I was not in a bad mood, just you know, those days when your face looks old and tired, your hair is a mess, you feel fat and not well dressed (anyway whatever you put on you just feel awful on your body). We all have those days: there is no make-up, hairdresser or favorite clothes and accessories that can help!

Probably it was not the best day for shooting but my friend insisted and I said ok. When I saw the pictures I just decided to throw them away! Hey, I cannot post this!

A few days ago I was cleaning my bin when I saw them and I said “Hey, stop blaming yourself for not being at your best. It happens! Just let it go and post these pictures! The dress is so cool and so is your smile!”.

Accepting myself in my bad days is still a hard task for me but I keep working on it and publishing these pictures is a way to fight my self-limitations which I try to do every day. It calms me down and give me a smile and I can feel a pure joy inside when I manage to take a little step towards my life free of self- limitations. Self-acceptance and self-esteem is probably the first step to reach and I am proud of making a step closer to this point by posting these pictures.

I was wearing a Zara dress that I bought on sale, after trying it a few times as it looked too stretchy for my body; but in the end I decided that to feel more comfortable I could wear it with a jacket, like I did here (velvet one from Massimo Dutti). Pointy ankle boots are from Francesco Milano at Merry Go Round in Milan, necklaces from & Other Stories and small loop earrings are vintage.

The Ladybug stays warm and cozy

The Ladybug Chronicles Warm and Cozy (2)

As the temperatures get lower it is time to stay warm and cozy in our favorite winter pieces.

Soft and warm scarves and sweaters are on top of my list especially since I live in Milan! I can get out without gloves or hats in winter but I cannot make it without a scarf!

The checked one I am wearing here is from Momonì and it is possibly one of my favorite winter scarves as it is incredibly warm and soft. I wore it on a navy jumper from & Other Stories and denim culottes from Massimo Dutti.

Camel ankle boots are from Carmens and handmade brass earrings are from Metalica Creazioni.

The Ladybug and the story of a vintage Nina Ricci shirt

One of my favorite recycling rules is re-selling what I don’t use anymore: it is a great idea to make room for new pieces in your wardrobe and to put together some money for travels or new fashion and vintage addictions!

I have always used Ebay as a platform to sell my wardrobe but in the last few months I got addicted to more mobile apps for my fashion recycling: Vintag,  (that I have already introduced you to some time ago and where I set-up my personal vintage shop,!) and Depop where I started selling and buying quite a lot lately.

My first buy ever on Depop was this amazing vintage 70s Nina Ricci shirt from the wonderful seller Erre Moscia Blog: I totally fell in love with this vintage piece but as it was my first time on Depop I was a bit afraid. The transaction was super smooth and when I received the shirt I was fainting for how great it looked for real!

I took these pictures the first time that I wore it, with a velvet Massimo Dutti blazer and flare jeans to complete the 70s look even if the earrings, bought during an Antiques fair in Sorrento many years ago, are from the 80s.

The Ladybug adds some (a lot of!) red for a 50s inspired outfit

The Ladybug Chronicles 50s Outfit (1)

Milan, Deejay Ten 10K run, October 2017.

Almost one hour of running and one of eating, chatting and stretching in Parco Sempione with fellow runners, then a quick shower and voilà: here I am in a 50s inspired style ready for a late lunch with my friends (those who run with me plus a few lazy ones!!) at the lovely Nepalese restaurant Ashar in Milan.

I wore my new Massimo Dutti dark denim culottes bought exactly the day before, during our shopping session (the Deejay Ten weekend is always a food + shopping one!) with my new & Other Stories striped top (bought during the same shopping session!!).

I added some touch of red like my not new but still loved African wax bomber jacket from Protect Talibés on Etsy, a thrifted Balenciaga bag and a red Sephora lipstick.

Clogs are from Casta & Dolly at Archivio Vintage in Milan.
