Nubian Queen, that’s how I called this set of pictures and for many reasons:
1. Nubian is the off-the-shoulder dress that I am wearing (from Nubian Collection);
2. I am also wearing what I call “my crown”, one of my beautiful turbans; this is handmade from Madame Ilary (as most of my turbans!);
3. I still have my statement golden loops;
4. I am in my beautiful hometown, Messina; But…most important reason is number 5
5. This set of pictures is very important to me because it reminds me of a very sh*tty day that turned into a very positive one with a super powerful message.
Here is the story: very sad and toxic phone call (the last one with an awful man), I am feeling frustrated as usual but I know that I cannot do it anymore. I decide that I need beautiful things to make up my mind and I start looking for my Senegal pictures on my phone but I found these. I looked at them and really felt like a queen. I just said to myself “Angela, look at you, you are stunning”! That self-love expression gave me everything that I needed: the force to mentally kill the awful man…in fact, that was the last call!
So proud of me, Queen!
(Shoes: Swedish Hasbeens; Moroccan straw bag: Maluan Maroquinerie on Etsy)
I cannot stand the freezing weather these days…seriously I hate going around dressed like an onion with two/three layers of clothes. I guess I am one of those people who cannot be very stylish when it is that cold! I do my best but when I try a bit harder I get a cold…I should just give up and get warm!
One of the things that I do to feel warmer is watching my summer pictures and try to feel again the sun on my face, I look at that bold colors and I immediately get better.
This is one of the sets that I use against the winter blues!
It feels like Greece but it is my beautiful hometown, Messina in Sicily. I was going to the beach with my sister and we stopped by this blue building to use it as a backdrop for the pictures!
I was wearing a beautiful playsuit from Nubian Collection, one of my favorite “afro-prints-style” providers, that I paired with a wonderful handmade turban by Madame Ilary with an African wax printed fabric.
To complete the style I wore my adored vintage golden loops that I lost (actually I lost only one) about a month ago…I loved them so much and it is so hard to find exactly the same or same style.
My everyday pieces of this summer: Maluan Maroquinerie Moroccan round straw bag from Etsy and Birkenstock flat sandals.
(Lipstick is one of my new ones from the organic line Al Verde at DM that I bought in Munich in July. I don’t usually wear dark pink but in summer when my face is quite tanned I really love the glowing effect!).
