The Ladybug and the instant princess feeling!

Sometimes it happens that you don’t need to think too much about what to wear and how to combine pieces. This usually happens when you wear a statement piece that says it all and the rest of your outfit almost doesn’t matter.

When you wear a piece like this you feel different, no matter what. I truly believe in the power of fashion. Someone one day said: “You can have it all if you dress for it!”. Or it was “You can have it all. Go dress for it”. Well, it doesn’t matter now, what matters is that getting dressed in a certain way, in line with who you are and who you want to be gives you a special and powerful energy.

This amazing long skirt handmade by Ilaria (Heka Couture) is one of my powerful pieces. In soft Prince of Wales patterned wool, super long and perfectly fitting with its large pleats, this skirt is a dream and it can give the instant “princess feeling”!

I wore it for work with super simple black Benetton sweater (but I can also imagine it with a simple white shirt) but I added a bit of color with the aqua Ouigal ankle boots and a bit of vintage with the amazing IZ Vintage blackamoor golden earrings.

I don’t know if it was a coincidence but that day was a really wonderful day!

No Granny Panties Here: The Ladybug Takes Nanna to Prep-School!

Here is another of my favorite vintage finds from my house hunting days in Milan! This is the second dress that I bought at Sous Vintage Shop on the Alzaia Naviglio Pavese: I adored this navy pleated dress with pearled buttons and organza white collar! I know it may give the idea of a granny dress, but I find it so preppy!

I used it straight away when I came back home and took these pictures (with the cat calling painter in the background) on my old street a few days before leaving.

I paired it with a pair of retro inspired tan T-bar shoes from Shoegasm in New York and I decided to go a bit messy with jewels: I’m using a pair of vintage golden earrings that you may remember me buying at a Vintage Antiques Market in Sorrento and, since I don’t mind mixing golden and silver, I’m also wearing two vintage rings: a silver snaky one (one of my favorite birthday presents ever) and a vintage enamel white flower ring that I found in a little market somewhere in Belgium many years ago!

I’m also wearing a beautiful coral YSL lipstick that you will find soon on my Ebay Shop!
